Task 3 - What have you learned from your audience feedback?

During our project, myself and Alie have been posting feedback on the blog, which we have received from various people. We started off by posting feedback that received from Nick(our teacher) and Mike(a member of the class) and this was when we had completed our first rough cut. Below is the feedback and the post that put on blogger.

First Rough Cut Feedback - Nick

We have come a long way since we started to edit the footage and we have received a lot of different but useful feedback. After this rough cut we decided to get rid of all of the outside footage and the footage from inside the car.
This then left the live Junction footage, which we have been told is quite strong and will be able to stand by itself. We than started to edit the Junction footage, adding in transitions, small effects to make the footage more visually interesting. We thought that this feedback was quite useful because it will help us to a better quality video in the long run and it meant that we could discover more effects on Final Cut.

Feedback From Mike

We completed our rough cut of our music video. I then asked a few people to look through it and Mike decided to give us some feedback.
The feedback which he gave us was that he thought that our video content was a good idea and that overall it was edited quite well. He also mentioned that once it gets started into the journey, it is works very well. However, he thought that it started off a little to slowly and needs to be cut down a more before the final edit.
I thought that this feedback was useful and we used it to make our video better. As we are getting rid of the journey footage all together, it makes his feedback quite easy to do and we will try to make the footage pick up more speed and move on more smoothly.

Junction Feedback

The feedback which they gave us was very useful, it is similar to what Nick had advised us to do and it will help us to make our video a lot better.
They thought that the outside footage of the video didn't work well with the live footage from the Junction. However, they thought that in some way it could work but to take the time to find out how, would take a long time, which we didn't have. We have decided to get rid of the outside footage completely to make our video. We are keeping the live footage and working with it visually in Final Cut so it will be more interesting and gripping.
The judges at the Junction also thought that when they were watching the video, they could imagine the artist laying in the coffin throughout the song. This was because of what the lyrics were talking about and we thought that this could work but the chances of us getting a coffin is low.

Digipak Feedback

I have got some feedback from Nick and he mentioned that I needed to suggest that our advert is advertising a digipak rather than an album. I have now edited it so it now suggests it is a digipak rather than advertising the album out now. We have also decided, because of the dimensions of the picture we have created, that the image is for a half page advert.
