Lip Syncing Exercise - I'm a Believer Rough Video
This is the rough version of the lip syncing exercise. It is in rough, as we had a short time to perfect it to a good quality.
Feedback
I didn't personally get a lot of feedback because I only edited a version of the video. However, even though I was there to shoot the video or be part of the shoot for that week, I still managed to edit the video at the same quality as the others who were there.
The back I recieved was quite good overall, the lip sync was in time but a lot of people thought that I could have edited it quicker so that there were more shots and it would stick well with the beat of the music.

Editing and Lip Syncing
Now that the main editing was done, we could then go on to putting in effects and styles that would make the video look more interesting. I hadn't got the point where I could add in effects yet but if I had got to that point, I had already decided what effects I think would work well within the video.
Having each shot fade out a little would make each shot flow nicely into the next, so that would have been the next thing which I would have done. I would then of went on to add in more complex effects such, there is an effect which makes a mirror reflection of the person on the screen, next to them. I thought that this effect would work well because if this were to be added to one of two shots, it would look quite were and soot the tempo of the music. The last thing I may have looked into doing, would have been to play around with the colour of the footage and maybe make a few of them a different colour or black and white, to see if that effect would make the video more interesting.

Editing and Lip Syncing
Once the syncing was correct enough as it could be, then it was easier from there on. The next we had to do was to cut the footage, so you would have a varied amount of shots and it would look more interesting. Our song that we had was quite up beat so the more cuts that we could make would make the video look better, as more cuts makes it look likes it more up beat and energetic. These cuts of course, couldn't be just anywhere. It made sense to put them after a line of the song or on beats, so then it all flowed together better and each persons lip sync would look more effective and interesting.
Editing and Lip Syncing
When it came to editing the footage, once we knew what to do, it was quite simple. We started by transferring the footage from the camera to the Mac, into a Final Cut project. To start, the first we had to do was lip sync the music file with the mouth movements in the footage. To do this we would mark a point on the music track, where the artist would start singing and scan along the footage till we find the first part in which Joe or Matt would sing and mark that too. Then with those two marks we would line them and then watch the footage with the music track to see if they are both in sync with each other. If they weren't in sync then you would just keep moving the footage file until it did sync up correctly.

Lip Syncing Exercise
Our task was mainly to learn how to sync a piece of music, with a persons mouth movements to that piece of music. However, to complete this task we also had to make a music video our own, put the music on and this helped use with our performance skills, using a camera and our editing.
I was part of a group which consisted of Joe, Matt.H and Dave. Myself and Dave weren't there for the shooting of the video so we both made our own edited version of the footage that Joe and Matt shot whilst we weren't there.
The song which they were given to do was by The Monkees and called 'I'm a believer'. They chose to shoot the footage outside and in the forest by the side of college, as there really wasn't really much choice in places because it was only a practice task.
